GTD With Chandler

Being a fan of the podcast at Kill The Desktop, I was glad to hear they were doing an interview with the folks from The Chandler Project.

There has been a great increase in interest recently with GTD in general and Chandler aims to fill a void that currently exists within the web/desktop applications field. It is currently in a preview stage but already you can get a feel for what they’re aiming to do with this great tool. You can download the desktop application now and start testing it out. Although it has only been tested on XP for the windows platform, I am currently testing on Vista Home Premium and I have had no problems so far.

Straight away from the installation, you are given a set of defaults tasks and notes to help you get started. I can imagine the interface may be a bit daunting for some users to begin with and so I would suggest starting with The Getting Started Guide. Once you get to grips with the basics, it’s really easy to use and you’ll be getting things done in no time.

So, how can you help? You can start by downloading and testing the application then reporting any bugs or problems to Chandler. Remember, this is an Open Source project and as such, the community will play a large role in the success of the service. There is also an online Hub allowing you to share tasks and projects with colleagues and to collaborate from one place. I have yet to test the online functionality so that’s where you come in. Sign up and start using it today! With our help, the Chandler Project will no doubt become one the top choices in GTD applications.
