So, it’s not quite finished and no doubt things will keep cropping up throughout the week which need fixing, there’s a lot of little things left to do. But I’m tired now and thought I would tidy up as I go. I’ll talk a bit about the redesign here but will go into more detail once I’ve had some sleep! Lets start shall we?

Now then, the first thing you’re likely to notice about the new design is the shift in page elements. I’ve moved the portfolio samples up to the top, shifting focus towards freelance work which is what I want to focus the site on. Besides that, there aren’t any major changes, just aesthetics mainly I think.

I stuck with flash text for the headings, mainly through lack of a better option at the moment. I am going to start using tags with each post and generalizing on the categories - older post may look a bit odd without tags in the meta titles but those will soon get shoved away in the archives! I’ve changed around comments to something a lot more simple but it looks more effective I think, I added a plugin to style my own comments differently.

As for the articles themselves, I am going to start shaping each one like this. By that, I mean with a short introductory paragraph followed with a link to continue reading, sort of like an excerpt but I’ve stuck with full posts and the ‘more’ feature now that it no longer cuts out feeds through RSS.

So, please excuse any odd happenings that may go on over the next few days as I clean up everywhere and fix what’s not finished yet. Apart from that, I hope you enjoy the new design and feel free to comment and let me know what you think!
