About
So, you want to know a bit about me then? Well my name is Dave McNally and I’m a freelance designer living and working in Wirral, UK. Not the biggest place in the world, it’s usually best describing to people as “near Liverpool”. Web design wise, I’m interested in standards based designs, typography and imagery. Outside of work, time is mostly spent with my wife and son but when I am free, I’m a big film (or movie, depending on who’s reading this) fan and love carp fishing.
As far as an ‘about’ goes for this site and the business side of things, it’s pretty much a one man show. This site serves as a personal blog as well as hosting a space for my freelance work. Any projects taken on are done by me alone for the majority of cases.
If, by any chance, you’re interested in what else I’m up to online, you can find a bunch of links in my sidebar over there to multiple social-network-type sites that I am a member of. If that’s not enough, you can always contact me with any questions or project requirements and I’ll do my best to help out.
Looking for some information about my education? Alrighty then. I went to a local Grammar School where I received 11 GCSE’s between grades A & C. I then started A-levels but became really bored, really fast and so decided to leave school for good and start working! I went into retail for lack of anything better, was soon promoted to management, only to realize that just meant working even more and getting no extra pay - no thanks. I then went and did some bar work for a while in a local night club before finally deciding I had more fun playing around on the computer, which brings me to where I am today. As for my design education, I am completely self taught. By that, I mean all I have learned about layout, colours, typography etc - I learned from the books on my shelf and the vast amount of RSS feeds I’ve subscribed to.
